Tokto – License & Third-Party Notices

Tokto On-Prem Edition includes proprietary software developed by Tokto Ltd., as well as third-party open-source components. This page provides the required license attributions, notices, and SBOM access.

Important: All open-source components remain the property of their respective authors and are used under their original licenses. Tokto does not modify, sublicense, or relicense any included third-party code.

1. Proprietary License (Tokto)

Tokto On-Prem Edition is proprietary software. Use is governed by the Tokto Commercial EULA and IP Protection Addendum, included in your deployment package.

2. Third-Party Open-Source Licenses

Tokto includes open-source components under recognized OSI-approved licenses, including:

3. MySQL Connector/J (GPL 2.0 + FOSS Exception)

Tokto uses MySQL Connector/J, which is licensed under GPL-2.0 WITH Oracle's Universal FOSS License Exception. This exception explicitly permits dynamic linking and redistribution of the MySQL JDBC driver inside proprietary applications without imposing any GPL obligations on Tokto's proprietary software.

No action is required by customers. This usage is fully compliant and legally permitted.

4. Server Software Disclaimer (MySQL & Redis)

Tokto does not distribute MySQL Server or Redis Server. Customers are responsible for obtaining appropriate licenses for their database and infrastructure systems.

Tokto only distributes:

• MySQL Connector/J (client driver)
• Lettuce Redis client

These clients communicate with customer-operated servers and do not trigger any server licensing obligations.

5. SBOM (Software Bill of Materials)

You may access the full SBOMs for auditing and compliance:

• Backend SBOM (JSON)
• Frontend SBOM (JSON)

Each SBOM enumerates all components, their versions, and their licensing.

6. Summary of Obligations

• All third-party licenses are provided verbatim in /licenses/.
• No copyleft requirements apply to Tokto's proprietary code.
• Customers are responsible for licensing MySQL/Redis server software.
• Tokto retains all intellectual property rights in the Tokto platform.
