What is AI TRiSM?

AI TRiSM (AI Trust, Risk and Security Management) is an industry framework — popularized by Gartner — for making AI systems trustworthy, fair, secure, and compliant. It groups the controls an organization needs across model governance, runtime enforcement, and information governance.

TRiSM matters because it reframes AI risk as an operating discipline rather than a one-time review. Models and usage change daily; controls have to run continuously, at the point of use.

In practice, TRiSM programs need a place where policy meets live traffic: inspection of prompts and responses, enforcement of rules by team and model, validation of outputs, and a record of everything for accountability.
